INSTALL A BARRIER
You can dig a trench encircling your planting bed and install a 60 mil, 24" tall barrier, as seen in this picture. You will need to leave at least a 2" lip above ground for monitoring the runners twice a year. You should angle the barrier slightly outward from your planting bed. CONTAINER BEDS Bamboo will not usually survive our cold winters in a small pot or container. The larger the container, the better it's chance for survival. Large custom made beds or containers usually do well depending on the winter. Please call for tips and advice on this. IRRIGATION In Idaho, with our hot dry summers, bamboo can be contained within it's area of irrigation. It will not usually spread beyond where it is being watered. |
