The Timber varieties are the most impressive bamboos that we can grow here. However, they do require some room to grow. They do not do well in containers and can be quite invasive.

Rubro does not spread as fast as some of the other varieties. It stays in a tighter clump, but does have running rhizomes. It is an nice straight bamboo with thick walls that makes the poles very suitable for use in construction.
